This project is located at Avenue G and U.S. 17 South. This 21,000 SF state-of-the-art facility is the City’s first “green” structure Silver Level Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified building. The EOR’s experience consisted of designing and permitting for the construction of this facility, which included a new vehicle maintenance facility, fire administration building, and fire station apparatus bays. Other components of this facility include an interconnected walkway and courtyard, handicap accommodations and ADA accessibility features, sleeping quarters, and vehicle storage and wash-down facilities.
Retained to work under a construction manager at risk arrangement with the City of Winter Haven and McCree Design Builders to prepare the civil site engineering construction plans, assist with the attainment of permits, and perform construction observation and certification services for the Winter Haven Fire Station No. 1 facility located at Avenue G and U.S. 17 South. The new 21,000 SF state-of-the-art facility is the City’s first “green” structure as a Silver Level Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified building. (LEED Silver Certified). This project scope consisted of designing and permitting for the construction of the Fire Station No. 1 facility, which included a new vehicle maintenance facility, fire administration building, and fire station apparatus bays. Other components of this facility include an interconnected walkway and courtyard, handicap accommodations and ADA accessibility features, sleeping quarters, and vehicle storage and wash-down facilities. This work included the preparation of dimensioned site plans, grading and drainage plans, and potable water, reuse water, and sanitary sewer plans for the 2-acre site. This project was reviewed by the City of Winter Haven, Florida Department of Transportation, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Southwest Florida Water Management District, and Polk County Health Department
