This 26-acre recreational improvement project included game fields, concession, restrooms, fields/facilities for local football practice and games, picnic areas, and a trail system that interconnects with the adjacent Lake Maude Nature Park Trail. To confirm the community’s desires and determine what additional facilities should be incorporated, a publicly vetted programming and master planning process was conducted. Engineering assistance included permitting and various designs, i.e. layouts, lighting, entrances, parking, potable water distribution, sanitary sewer collection and transmission/lift station, site stormwater management, irrigation, landscaping and erosion control.

Managed site civil design, permitting and bidding for the new 26-acre recreational improvement project, which included the design and permitting of a playground, stadium field, practice/ dual purpose (football/soccer) field, softball and baseball fields, six pavilions, and interconnects with the adjacent Lake Maude Nature Park Trail. Mr. Kaye assisted the City in conducting a publicly vetted programming and master planning process. In addition, multiple well-attended stakeholder meetings and public workshops were held to receive the community’s input on various design components and recreational elements, pedestrian accessways. The first phase of this recreation complex includes game fields and support facilities for local football practice and games, picnic areas, and a trail system that interconnects with the adjacent Lake Maude Nature Park Trail. To confirm the community’s desires and determine what additional facilities should be incorporated during future design efforts, Mr. Kaye assisted the City in conducting a publicly vetted programming and master planning process. In addition, multiple well-attended stakeholder meetings and public workshops were held to receive the community’s input on various design components and recreational elements. The result of this process was the identification of the most appropriate components for the proposed park and a Master Concept Plan with a Phase I plan that is slated to be under construction the last quarter of 2017. Engineering design and permitting included sidewalks, lighting, driveways, entrance improvements and parking lots, potable water distribution, sanitary sewer collection and transmission/lift station, site stormwater management, landscaping, power, and erosion control systems. Performed liaison environmental assessment effort and skink and gopher tortoise mitigation and permitting. This project was designed and permitted via the City of Winter Haven, the Southwest Florida Water Management District, Historical and Cultural Resources, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, F&W Service and the Polk County Health Department. Consulting Fees: $460,000; Ph 1 Construction Cost: 3.5 million
