Winter Haven Parking Facility – Winter Haven, FL
This 267-stall, three-story parking facility located at 3rd Street NW and Avenue A NW in Winter Haven, Florida, was revised to include a subsurface drainage facility to accommodate a new garbage compaction structure. CarterKaye’s experience included civil and environmental engineering, coordination with the architect and City to site the building, and resolution of challenges related to access and stormwater management. The site was spatially constrained with limited right-of-way and available land. Stormwater management was addressed through an on-line dry retention system. Engineering services included permitting and detailed design of entrances, parking, fire water systems, and site stormwater management, with approvals obtained through the City of Winter Haven and the Southwest Florida Water Management District. In 2019 and 2020, CarterKaye was also engaged to perform a feasibility evaluation of this site for the City.
