Project management for the City of Winter Haven Avenue C SW and 2nd Street SW Complete Street project (FPID: 440276-1-58-01), a comprehensive corridor improvement totaling approximately $1.45 million. Avenue C SW, a City-maintained collector street, now features two travel lanes reduced to 11 feet in width to enhance safety and encourage slower vehicle speeds. The corridor includes both striped and unstriped on-street parking, continuous 5-foot sidewalks on both sides, and upgraded stormwater infrastructure. Along the north side of Avenue C SW from First Street South to Fifth Street SW (approximately 1,725 feet), an 8-foot concrete and asphalt multi-use path was constructed. The existing 5- and 6-foot sidewalks on the south side of Avenue C SW were reconstructed, and new defined on-street parking and landscaping were added along Avenue C SW and a portion of 2nd Street SW. Additionally, 5-foot sidewalks were constructed along both sides of 2nd Street SW between Avenue C SW and Avenue G SW (approximately 1,340 feet), and new street trees were installed to improve pedestrian comfort. Underground conduit was also installed to accommodate future fiber and/or street lighting. Kriss Kaye served as the original Project Manager for the project, and CarterKaye later served as the Owner’s Representative during construction, also providing the design of the corridor lighting.
