Provided civil engineering and site development services for a restaurant redevelopment project located within the Urban Core / Primary Activity Center of downtown Winter Haven, Florida. The project involved the redevelopment and enhancement of an existing commercial site on approximately 0.5 acres to accommodate a new 2,195-square-foot restaurant facility with indoor and outdoor dining areas.
Engineering services included site planning, grading and drainage evaluation, stormwater management, utility coordination, parking layout, ADA accessibility improvements, permitting support, and supporting site infrastructure design. The project incorporated vehicle parking, bicycle parking, pedestrian access improvements, utility service coordination, and redevelopment of a highly impervious urban site while maintaining compatibility with the surrounding downtown environment.
The compact urban design maximized the functionality of the site while accommodating restaurant operations, customer parking, outdoor seating, pedestrian circulation, and utility connections within a constrained redevelopment footprint. Improvements were designed to support continued investment within downtown Winter Haven and further the City’s goals for urban revitalization, walkability, and economic development within the Primary Activity Center.
