Petersen Industries Expansion, Lake Wales, Florida – Provided civil engineering, site development, permitting, and infrastructure design services for the expansion of Petersen Industries’ manufacturing operations located on approximately 71.4 acres along State Road 60 West in Lake Wales, Florida. Petersen Industries is a recognized manufacturer of specialized industrial equipment and heavy-duty material handling systems serving municipal, industrial, and commercial markets throughout the United States.
Engineering services included site planning, due diligence, grading and drainage design, stormwater management, utility coordination, potable water and wastewater service evaluation, parking and circulation planning, permitting support, and supporting infrastructure improvements necessary to accommodate the proposed manufacturing facility expansion. The project consisted of the development of a new approximately 22,000-square-foot office and light manufacturing building integrated within the existing industrial property.
Design efforts focused on supporting continued manufacturing growth while maintaining efficient site operations, employee access, truck circulation, parking accommodations, utility service availability, and long-term operational flexibility. The site was planned to accommodate employee and visitor parking, internal circulation, service vehicle access, and future operational demands while maintaining compliance with local development standards and Gateway Special Area Plan requirements.
Stormwater management, grading, and supporting infrastructure improvements were designed to satisfy applicable regulatory requirements while preserving site functionality and supporting future expansion opportunities. The project contributes to the continued growth of industrial and manufacturing employment within the Lake Wales area by expanding production capacity and enhancing operational capabilities at an established manufacturing facility.
