Potable Water Interconnects and Dynamic Modelling
Environmental, Utility Systems
Engineer of Record: Kriss Kaye, P.E., CFM

Carter and Kaye Engineering, LLC provided civil engineering services for numerous potable water mains, including the design, permitting, and construction coordination of approximately 2,100± linear feet of 12-inch potable water main extending along Jamison Road to serve the industrial development. The new transmission main connects to an existing 12-inch Polk County Utilities line west of Old Highway 37 and was installed within the Polk County right-of-way. A critical component included a jack-and-bore installation beneath the active CSX railroad corridor with steel casing and restrained carrier pipe constructed in accordance with railroad standards and inspection requirements. The design addressed horizontal and vertical alignment constraints, utility conflict avoidance, maintenance of traffic, and restoration within the County right-of-way. The water main was permitted through the Polk County Utilities Division and the Polk County Health Department and constructed to County specifications, including pressure testing, disinfection, bacteriological clearance, and final acceptance procedures, to provide reliable potable water service, enhanced system redundancy, and fire flow capacity supporting continued industrial expansion in west Polk County.
