Winter Lake Apartments is a multi-family residential project located near Recker Highway and Avenue O SW in Winter Haven Florida. CarterKaye was responsible for the reduction of pollutant load stormwater master system design. This system design was required to reduce pollutants to pre-development conditions, reducing the pollutant loads by 98 percent. The system attenuates runoff to an FDOT conveyance system. More than 36 storm events were simulated. This design included a treatment train approach consisting of reducing the DCIA, a development outfall to a pretreatment system of retention, which cascades into a permanent pool design. The permanent pool provides residence time using a wet detention system which outfalls to a side-bank filtration system prior to discharging from the site. The system was permitted through the Southwest Florida Water Management District and Florida Department of Transportation.
